So our new year started off with taking the tree down as does most peoples. Except we normally take it down before the new year starts.
I just couldn’t bring myself to do it, I really loved the tree this year and part of me just didn’t want to let go of the holidays.
And I really didn’t want the kids to go back to school. There is still part of me hanging on to the holidays and wishing they were still around.
Our tiny house feels so empty and quiet.
A huge clean up was needed though as the house has been destroyed and over crowded with all the new things we have received for christmas.
I also have so much chocolate everywhere and not enough storage to keep it all in. So I have literally had to squeeze it in the larder in the utility which pretty much guarantees that we will forget about it.
I have boxes of new toys under my dinning room table as I have no where else to put them.
Their bedrooms are not much better but that is going to have to wait.
I have focused on the downstairs so that I can have visitors without them thinking that we were loosing a game of jumanji.
I hadn’t mopped for a week so the floors desperately needed a good clean and it all feels so much fresher now.
Its not what I would call the best start to the year regarding the house but I will get there one day, at least that’s what I keep telling myself.
